Eligibility
- Students studying engineering or engineering technology disciplines
- Students studying computer science, data science, environmental/sustainability science, and safety or industrial safety programs
- Applications accepted from university sophomore and junior applicants, and university seniors planning to attend their first year of graduate school
- Applicant must be enrolled full-time in a four-year undergraduate or graduate program at an accredited North American university
- Applicant should have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale
- Application, essay and recommendation letter should express a strong interest in the iron and steel industry
- Applicant must be a citizen of a USMCA country (USA, Canada, Mexico)
- Applicant must be available, willing and able to relocate for the summer internship
Description
The Premier Intern Scholarship is awarded to the top-scoring applicant of all received applications. It offers a one-year scholarship of $12,000, preceded by a paid summer internship at a North American steel-producing or steel-related company. Applicants must commit to the internship and may need to relocate. The scholarship is open to students studying engineering, engineering technology, computer science, data science, environmental/sustainability science, and safety or industrial safety programs. Applicants must be enrolled full-time in a four-year undergraduate or graduate program at an accredited North American university and have a minimum GPA of 2.5.
