Eligibility

  • Applicants of Asian, Pacific Islander, or Asian Multiracial ethnicity as defined by the U.S. Census, who are currently residing in the U.S.
  • Have indicated a commitment to counseling underserved or underrepresented communities and utilizing a social justice lens
  • Must be currently enrolled in a counseling or counseling-related master’s degree program at an accredited post-secondary institution in the U.S., with a pathway to counseling licensure or certification
  • Must have completed, or be currently completing, a counseling practicum or internship

Description

The Asian American Leaders in Mental Health Scholarship is open to Asian American and Pacific Islander students pursuing a career in professional counseling with a focus on advancing mental health and social justice. This scholarship is a one-time award, but past recipients and applicants are encouraged to reapply each year in a competitive process. Award amounts may be used toward recipient’s tuition, fees, room and board, books, supplies, and other qualified educational expenses.
